Research profile
Classification
Stabilized growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH 1-44) analog
Mechanism of action
Trans-3-hexenoyl modified GHRH analog resistant to DPP-4 cleavage. Binds pituitary GHRH receptors to stimulate pulsatile endogenous growth hormone release, with downstream hepatic IGF-1 production; studied for preferential effects on visceral adipose tissue lipolysis.
Investigated research applications
- GHRH receptor binding and pituitary somatotroph secretion assays
- Visceral adipose tissue (VAT) quantification models
- GH/IGF-1 axis pulsatility and endocrine feedback studies
- Hepatic lipid content and metabolic parameter research
Commonly reported assay endpoints
Serum GH pulse amplitudeIGF-1 concentrationVAT area by CT/MRITriglyceride profile
