Classification
GHRH analog (CJC-1295) / ghrelin receptor (GHS-R1a) agonist (Ipamorelin) co-formulation
Mechanism of action
CJC-1295 is a tetra-substituted GHRH(1-29) analog with DPP-4 resistance that stimulates pituitary somatotrophs via the GHRH receptor, while Ipamorelin is a selective pentapeptide GHS-R1a agonist that amplifies GH pulse amplitude without appreciable ACTH, cortisol or prolactin release. Co-administration is studied for synergistic, pulsatile GH secretion through two complementary receptor pathways.
Investigated research applications
- GH pulsatility and somatotroph secretory capacity assays
- GH/IGF-1 axis feedback and receptor desensitization studies
- Body composition and lean mass models in rodents
- Selectivity profiling against ACTH/cortisol/prolactin secretion
Commonly reported assay endpoints
